DOJ Entertainment is pleased to present international jazz bassist Julian Vaughn with special guest, saxophonist Tim Cunningham.
A dynamic lead bass player from Kansas City, bassist Julian Vaughn is rapidly becoming a major player in the contemporary jazz genre. Vaughn has made a name for himself as bassist in the smooth jazz genre, which has historically been dominated by saxophone players. Although the bass is often associated with funk, Vaughn’s mixes that traditional sound with more finesse.
For decades the words "smooth, sultry, cool and funky" have been used to describe Tim Cunningham’s high energy and emotional stage show as his sexy blend of smooth jazz and soulful R&B connects with people of all ages, races and genres of music. This unique and versatile style has earned Tim the pleasure of opening for such jazz greats as Dave Koz, Norman Brown, Chick Corea, The Yellow Jackets, Brian Culbertson, Wynton Marsalis and George Benson.
